Operating Principles & Governance

Every application must reflect your authentic experience and explicit authorization.

High-stakes career moves require disciplined ethics. We operate on three uncompromising principles: truthful representation of your verified background, candidate-authorized submission scope, and meticulous human review before dispatch.

Candidate Governance

Authorization is the prerequisite for every action.

You define your search criteria and authorization preferences during onboarding. Applications are prepared and submitted only within the scope of your explicit authorization.

Principle 01

Search Matrix Definition

During onboarding, you define strict search boundaries: approved job title families, seniority floors, compensation minimums, target locations, and an explicit company exclusion list.

Principle 02

Candidate Review Preferences

Choose between two operating models: Per-Role Approval (reviewing shortlists and materials individually before submission) or Pre-Authorized Dispatch (submitting directly within pre-approved parameters).

Principle 03

Strict Scope Governance

Applications are never prepared or dispatched outside your agreed parameters. If an opportunity falls outside your approved criteria, it requires explicit review and confirmation before any action.

Connected Operating Sequence

The Application Lifecycle

Authorization is not submission. Submission is not employer response. Each stage represents a discrete operational milestone.

01
Pre-Submission•

Preparation

Specialist matches role and tailors materials

Opportunity is vetted against your criteria. Resume emphasis and cover note are tailored strictly from candidate-provided accomplishments.

02
Candidate Control•

Candidate Review

Shortlist held for candidate inspection

When per-role approval is selected, materials remain in your queue. No submission occurs until you review and authorize.

03
Consent Confirmed•

Authorization

Explicit permission established

Consent confirmed under agreed workflow. Authorization permits dispatch—it does not indicate that submission has occurred yet.

04
Active Dispatch•

Portal Submission

Entered directly into employer recruitment portal

Specialist enters required fields and materials into the official employer system (e.g., Workday, Greenhouse, Lever).

05
Activity Evidence•

Record Archival

Documented in private tracking spreadsheet

Internal activity log archives files, channel, timestamp, and official portal confirmation reference when issued by the portal.

06
Employer Discretion•

Employer Decision

In company recruiter review queue

Application is under company consideration. Review timelines, candidate screening, and interview invitations remain solely with the employer.

Operational Rule: A later status is never recorded in client logs until the corresponding operational event has genuinely taken place. Candidate authorization allows preparation and submission; it is never presented as evidence of successful employer receipt or interview interest.

Authenticity & Quality

We never fabricate. We tailor the truth.

Recruiters and hiring managers value authenticity. Our mission is to present your genuine accomplishments with maximum clarity and impact—never to create a false impression that would unravel in an interview.

Part A — Strict Authenticity Policy

Zero Fabrication Boundaries

Tailoring means reorganizing verified achievements to emphasize relevance. It never means inventing experience.

Employment History & Tenure

We never alter dates of employment, invent previous employers, or inflate job titles. Gaps are addressed through honest structural framing, not fictitious roles.

Degrees & Certifications

We never claim unearned academic degrees, false professional licenses, or unverified certifications. Your credentials remain strictly truthful.

Skills & Technical Proficiencies

We never list technologies, frameworks, or domain proficiencies that you have not actually used. We tailor emphasis only across your genuine capabilities.

Screening Question Responses

We never guess or fabricate answers regarding work authorization, visa status, or compensation expectations. All screener answers derive from your candidate profile.

The Clarification Rule:

If an employer application requires specialized background disclosures, security clearance details, or specifics not documented in your verified master profile, our specialists will pause and request your direct input rather than guessing or improvising an answer.

Part B — Concrete QA Framework

The Four-Point Human Review

We do not rely on unmonitored scripts. Every application package undergoes human inspection prior to dispatch.

Manual Inspection

Real specialists checking role alignment, formatting, and required field mapping.

Human-Managed QA•Zero Algorithmic Blasting
01

Role Relevance Inspection

QA Stage 01

Confirming that the identified position strictly satisfies your agreed search parameters—including seniority floor, functional scope, remote/hybrid requirements, and target compensation threshold.

02

Resume & Layout QA

QA Stage 02

Checking exported PDF structure for clean, standard typography, clear chronological headings, ATS parsing readability, and zero visual or layout distortions.

03

Content & Narrative Accuracy

QA Stage 03

Ensuring customized bullet points and tailored cover notes highlight relevant achievements truthfully, maintaining strict fidelity to your verified career history.

04

Application Completeness

QA Stage 04

Verifying that all required portal fields, demographic disclosures (based on your explicit preferences), and supplementary screener responses are filled accurately prior to submission.

Review Scope & Credential Clarification

Human review optimizes document presentation, keyword positioning, and strict fidelity to candidate-provided records. CareerButton reviews materials for internal consistency; we do not conduct formal background investigations, degree verifications, or employment checks. Employers perform independent background checks upon offer. Furthermore, preparation quality does not guarantee employer acceptance, interview invitations, or employment offers.

Part C — Technical Work & Presence Standards

Portfolio & GitHub Authenticity Principles

Clear ethical boundaries governing developer project assistance, code attribution, and candidate ownership.

Skill & Contribution Fidelity

Projects must never misrepresent candidate skills, experience, or individual contributions. We never invent employment history, certifications, production scale, client engagements, or performance metrics.

Attribution & Collaboration

Candidate-authored code is clearly distinguished from assisted or collaborative scaffolding. Collaborative contributions are transparently acknowledged in project documentation to preserve interview credibility.

Anti-Synthetic Charter

We strictly prohibit fabricated repository activity, artificial commit histories, bot stars, simulated downloads, or phantom enterprise adoption. Repositories stand solely on authentic technical value.

Demonstration Project Labeling

Fictional reference or demonstration projects are explicitly designated as technical demonstrations in repository READMEs and portfolios—never disguised as live commercial client work.

Mandatory Candidate Approval

Candidate review and sign-off are required before any repository, portfolio page, or documentation is published online. The candidate retains full editorial and technical sign-off authority.

Code Ownership & Scope

Source-code ownership and permitted reuse are governed by the written service agreement. Hosting accounts, domain registrations, and third-party infrastructure remain candidate-owned and controlled.

Opportunity & Records

What is verified, and what records you receive.

We evaluate postings to verify active status before preparing tailored materials. Following submission, full records are archived in your private activity log.

Verification 01

Requisition Freshness

We check the employer's direct careers portal to confirm the requisition is actively accepting applications, filtering out ghost postings and stale third-party job board scrapers.

Verification 02

Profile & Scope Match

We cross-check stated responsibilities, compensation benchmarks, seniority tier, and location/remote policies against your approved onboarding matrix and company exclusion list.

Verification 03

Portal Requirements Check

We review application screener questions and required collateral before drafting materials. Any questions outside your verified candidate profile trigger the Clarification Rule.

Data Privacy & Governance

Your career documents belong solely to you.

Our security philosophy is rooted in data minimization: the most effective way to protect sensitive candidate data is not to collect it in the first place.

Pillar 01

No Data Monetization

We never sell, rent, license, or monetize candidate data. Information is never distributed to advertising networks, lead brokers, or third-party recruiters.

Pillar 02

Dedicated Service Usage

Candidate collateral is processed solely to assess service fit, customize application packages, and submit authorized forms to target employers.

Pillar 03

Role-Based Specialist Access

Access to your master resume, screening notes, and active search records is restricted strictly to the assigned search specialist managing your search.

Data Minimization Standards

Clear distinction between service-necessary information and strictly excluded personal identifiers.

Formal Data Processing Agreements, automated purge workflows, and production infrastructure controls are established prior to commercial candidate onboarding.

Clear, defensible answers regarding our operating ethics, candidate governance, and privacy standards.

Authorization is established during onboarding when you define your explicit search matrix—including target titles, seniority floors, compensation baselines, and excluded companies. You choose between two operating workflows: reviewing opportunity shortlists and tailored materials individually prior to each submission, or pre-authorizing your specialist to submit opportunities matching your exact parameters. Applications are prepared and submitted only within the scope of your explicit authorization.
