Commercial Terms & Governance

Terms of Service

Operational standards governing candidate engagement, submission authorization, truthfulness, and service boundaries.

Version: v0.1-prelaunch-draft
Draft Date: October 2026
Status: Draft Under Legal & Commercial Review
Section 01

Service Scope & Independent Nature

CareerButton provides an independent, human-managed job application research, document adaptation, human quality-assurance review, and submission management service for professionals conducting career searches across domestic and international markets.

Our services are designed to alleviate the operational friction of job searches by identifying relevant openings, tailoring materials to match job requirements, and submitting applications directly to employer portals on the candidate's behalf and with their express consent.

Note: The current web platform operates in pre-launch preview mode. Interactive forms demonstrate client-side validation only and do not submit or execute binding contracts.

Section 02

Regulatory & Professional Scope Clarification

Explicit Professional Boundaries

CareerButton is an independent application preparation and management service. We are NOT a licensed employment agency, headhunter, staffing agency, law firm, or immigration advisory practice. We do not place candidates, broker employment contracts, or provide legal advice regarding immigration, visas, or employment law.

Candidates requiring legal counsel regarding work visa sponsorship, immigration eligibility, or statutory employment rights must consult a licensed attorney.

Section 03

Candidate Responsibilities & Information Accuracy

Our service relies upon candid, authentic information provided by the candidate. Candidates agree to:

  • Provide Truthful History: Provide accurate, verifiable details regarding employment tenure, titles, education, certifications, and technical proficiencies.
  • Disclose Legal Authorization: Accurately disclose work authorization status and any employer sponsorship requirements.
  • Maintain Criteria Oversight: Regularly review and update target job titles, compensation minimums, and company exclusion lists.
  • Own Interview Communications: Attend and conduct all employer phone screens, technical assessments, interviews, and salary negotiations personally. CareerButton does not represent candidates in live interviews.
Section 04

Strict Zero-Fabrication Pledge

CareerButton strictly upholds professional ethics and ATS compliance. We adapt resumes to emphasize relevant, verified achievements, but we unconditionally refuse to:

  • Invent unearned degrees, certificates, or academic credentials.
  • Fabricate unverified employment history, employers, or tenure dates.
  • Misstate work authorization status on employer screener forms.
  • Inject false skills or fraudulent project metrics into candidate materials.

If a candidate requests fraudulent representations or misleading alterations, CareerButton reserves the right to immediately decline or terminate the engagement.

Section 05

Candidate Authorization & Submission Boundaries

Every application submitted by CareerButton requires explicit candidate authorization:

  1. Limited Submission Proxy: By enrolling, the candidate authorizes CareerButton specialists to navigate employer portals and input candidate-verified information on their behalf within agreed search boundaries.
  2. Exclusion List Sovereignty: Candidates retain absolute authority to exclude specific companies, industries, or geographic metros from search activity at any time.
  3. Approval Mode Selection: Clients may select batch pre-approval (inspecting matched positions before submission) or pre-authorized execution according to established criteria.
Section 06

Zero Hiring or Interview Guarantees

Ethical Disclaimer on Outcomes

Hiring decisions, interview selections, and compensation offers are made solely by prospective employers based on market demand, internal criteria, and comparative candidate qualifications. CareerButton does not and cannot guarantee interview invitations, job offers, or hiring outcomes.

We guarantee human diligence, individualized tailoring, rigorous QA checks, and verified submission receipts. Ethical standards prevent any legitimate service from guaranteeing employment.

Section 07

Engagement Framework & Retainer Billing

CareerButton operates on a predictable monthly retainer model aligned with dedicated specialist time and curated application volume:

  • No Percentage Commissions: We never charge a percentage of your starting salary, sign-on bonus, or equity grant.
  • Month-to-Month Retainer: Services are billed periodically without long-term multi-quarter lock-in contracts.
  • Consultation-Configured Quotation: The engagement tiers presented on Services & Pricing describe service scope, included deliverables, and operational search configuration. Exact monthly retainer fees and batch application capacities are confirmed during individual consultation prior to agreement execution. Published tier descriptions do not constitute guaranteed application volumes, unapproved capacity rollover commitments, or hiring outcome guarantees.
Section 08

Cancellation & Refund Consistency

All cancellation requests, pausing terms, and refund eligibility standards are governed by our dedicated Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Because our specialists invest significant human labor in company research, resume tailoring, and application execution during each sprint, applications that have already been submitted to employer portals cannot be recalled or reversed upon cancellation.

Section 09

Intellectual Property & Material Ownership

Ownership of career collateral is clearly delineated:

  • Candidate Ownership: Candidates retain 100% ownership of all master career documentation, tailored resume versions, cover letters, and submission receipts generated during the engagement.
  • Platform IP: CareerButton retains all rights to its website, branding, design system, internal specialist workflows, screening algorithms, and documentation.
Section 10

Limitation of Liability & Jurisdiction Pending Review

Formal limitation of liability provisions, dispute resolution mechanisms, arbitration provisions, and governing jurisdiction will be established upon completion of corporate entity formation and qualified legal review.

Status of Legal Entity & Formal Disclosures

CareerButton does not publish arbitrary liability caps, mandatory arbitration clauses, or unverified corporate entity names until formal legal counsel and state incorporation are finalized.
